Cygo-Lite MityCross 480 OSP LED Front Light

A palm-sized dual beam unit that punches out plenty of light for your trail rides or 24 hour races. The OSP® (On-Site Programmable) feature lets you customize the output to your needs. CrossFire Technology combines narrow beam lenses for distant throw with crossed LEDs for deeper and wider beam dispersion.

A solid purchase

Date:September 14, 2012
I am a daily four season commuter. My commute takes me through both road and trail conditions in and around Hamilton. I use the handle bar mount. I've used this light for over three years and there has been no degradation of performance even on cold nights with an hour or more of riding. It's a solid long term performer suitable in all conditions.
Pros: Rugged, Lightweight, Simple, Good Value, Reliable

Very happy with this light

Date:April 24, 2012
Daily commute to work on my bike. Light was helmet mounted allowing me to gain driver's attention before they turn left in front of me. Light is bright enough in dark conditions that you do not need to ring your bell to notify pedestrians on the bike path you are coming up behind them. Has worked well in all conditions even below -25 celsius.
Very happy with the value for dollar.
Pros: Simple, Good Value

Almost too bright!

Date:January 18, 2012
I find if I'm riding close to dusk and I try to use the light on the highest setting, the contrast is too great, and end up turning down the brightness level. The first time I took it out, I got high-beamed by 2 cars before realizing it was my light they were complaining about!
Great for riding singletrack at night.
Way brighter than the Planet Bike lights I use on my handlebars.
Pros: Rugged, Lightweight, Simple, Good Value, Reliable
Cons: Expensive

Great Value

Date:November 4, 2011
After alot of research, I decided to pull the trigger and purchase the mitycross 480. I would consider myself an avid mtnbiker and ride a mix of all mountain and cross country.
Last night I went for my first night ride and this light was a pleasant surprise. It was more than bright enough for an hour climb in the medium setting. Once we got to the top I set it to the high setting and we bombed about 8K of technical single track. I found this bright enough to illuminate at the speed of what I was comfortable riding at night. I would estimate that we rode the downhill piece at 70% the speed we would ride during the day.
very light on the helmet mount - didn't even notice that i had it attached to my helmet.
Pros: Lightweight, Simple, Good Value

Great light

Date:October 30, 2011
Great lumen to dollar ratio. Went for a one hour ride last night and the light was great. Full power the whole way and did not dim at all. Used as a helmet mount and it was so light i did not know it was there.
Pros: Lightweight
