Outstanding!

Date:April 8, 2013
Was torn between the Protrek and similar Suunto models. Went with the Protrek because of its supposed superior toughness and consistency (you never have to replace the battery...it's solar powered). Also the analog face combines elegance with utility - I'm comfortable wearing this beauty to the office or deep in the bush. Features work with a high degree of accuracy as well. This watch is simply outstanding.

Awesome Watch

Date:February 17, 2013
Really cool watch, love the thermostat built in and the compass is really handy. Even if you're pretty good with direction or in the city its usually pretty handy to remember "all I need to do is go east to get home." Haven't used the GPS too much yet but looking forward to the opportunity. Very cool that it is solar powered too. Only downfall is that the watch has so many applications it can get confusing trying to remember how to do everything. Definitely worth every penny though.
Pros: Rugged, Reliable
Cons: Complicated, Bulky

Best watch I have ever owned!

Date:December 27, 2012
This is my favourite watch I have ever owned!
I have owned this watch since late August 2012 and I never take it off I love it that much! I prefer wearing this watch rather than my $5,500 Panerai GMT. I find it just keeps time so good. It has not lost or gained a second since I got it. Can't say that for my other watches. I love the fact that it has a built in compass that actually works very well. I do agree with the other reviewer "Octo:" about the watch being a little larger than most but I prefer larger faced watches anyways and that one is a non issue for me. I also agree that it is somewhat complicated but you will get used to it. Love this watch!
Pros: Rugged, Lightweight, Good Value, Reliable
Cons: Complicated

More Features that I'll ever need

Date:March 10, 2012
I bought this watch because I haven't worn one for a while, I have been relying on my cell phone, but I was planning on going on a Military course and would need to have a capable wrist watch.
The things that dislike about the watch.
1. The size, it is rather large and difficult to wear under some long sleeve shirts, also it tended to get caught in the sleeves of jackets when putting things on in a hurry.
2. The watch must be removed from the arm for 10-15 minutes to get a accurate temperature reading of the air, as a result I rarely use this feature.
Over all the watch functions nicely, it has 29 time zones, atomic time syncing which can be disabled if needed. There are more features on this watch then I will ever use, but I like the fact that it is solar powered and I can quickly adjust it for various time zones/locations.
Pros: Rugged, Good Value
Cons: Complicated
