Excellent for daily use at home or out in the bush. 4 drops is enough for a daily shave, a couple more if you're been a few days. If using in cold weather camping, put it in an inside pocket for a while to warm it, wet face and shave. You don't need hot water to shave with this, but it's always nice and you're making tea anyway right?

I used to have to shave in the shower or use an electric. Peeling the skin off my face with a razor just wasn't appealing. Didn't matter what I used, it hurt.
Since using this and other shaving oils, I don't even flinch about shaving. Just wash my face, and apply the oil to a wet face. Shave, and voila.
I have even noticed that it sticks to the razor and I don't have to use as much oil each time.

I'm in the infantry and when I saw this product I thought I would be gold, small, light and requires only a few drops per shave. Unless you have time to heat up water (which in my case is rare) this oil is a waste of time as it gums up the razor and causes a mess. You also need to use considerably more than the suggested amount. Small travel size shaving gel products work better in my case

Tiny, carry-on & eco-friendly shaving

What a great surprise! This shave oil works better than any foams or gels I have used, less razor-rash, and less gunk building up in the razor. It has a mild scent, unlike most products. With this product it is a breeze to carry your shaving kit in carry-on luggage. And last, the tiny bottle is more gentle on the environment than any foams or gels in their bulky, pressurized cans. This product is particularly well priced for the number of shaves you can get in one bottle.

This is a winner

I recently stopped into the Halifax store and picked this up, along with various other items for my upcoming 10 month tour of South America. I was intrigued by this product, mainly because of it’s small size, efficient and portability however the sales person couldn’t speak to it’s effectiveness.
I followed the instructions and was surprised that only 5 drops was enough to provide a comfortable, close shave with virtually no irritation. The Cromwell & Cruthers Shaving Oil also seems to soften and comfort the skin and it has a pleasant smell.
This is a winner and a couple of these tiny bottles will be in my South American bag.

The product is easy to pack but there are much better products on the market. Mount Source has a product called Unique which is a far superior product. It was the best shave of my life.

The other reviews already tell you what you need to know. My reaction: you've got to be kidding! But they're not, it works as well if not better than regular shaving cream except with this I don't need to haul around my brush and mug soap.

I was a bit skeptical about this shave oil, as I can look like I shaved with a broken bottle under normal conditions. Following the directions, using very hot water, this stuff delivers an impressive shave. Worth every penny and then some!

Tiny, but so effective

When you first open the box this product comes in and take out the tiny bottle, you think: They've got to be kidding. But a few drops really will do the job and let you get as good a shave as the razor your using will deliver.
Just follow the directions and get your beard well hydrated before you apply the oil. A mug of really hot water to rinse your razor in helps a lot.
Because the bottle is so small it's easy to carry and have on hand for unexpected trips or time away from your regular kit.
The oil smells great and leaves your face feeling surprisingly good even after you've scraped off a number of days growth.
Pros: High Quality, Good Value
