Good concept - bad design
Date: July 23, 2009
I love the idea of the versatility of these pedals, but the reality is they are annoying to use. I ride mainly with cleats, and these pedals are weighted so they are always clip-side down. Flipping them over is not easily done, usually involving taking my eyes off the road. The clip themselves are a little clunky, sometimes taking repeated tries to get the cleat to click in. Going back to my Shimano double-sided was a relief, even if it means an extra pair of shoes.
Pros: Rugged, good if you mainly use regular shoes
Cons: Complicated, difficult to use with spd's

great pedals
Date: June 8, 2009
First time using pedals like this. Simple to use and the shoes just know where to go. I like that either side of the pedal can be used.
Pros: Good Platform, Increases Pedaling Efficiency, Lightweight, Dual Sided Entry, Adjustable, Reliable Entry/Exit

Great Pedal
Date: June 5, 2009
Absolutely fantastic pedal for my city bike. Allows you to clip in for everyday stuff or if your heading for a pint with some flip-flops on the platform works perfect. Great buy, great pedal for an everyday bike.
Pros: Adjustable, Good Platform, Reliable Entry/Exit, Increases Pedaling Efficiency, Lightweight

Solid, work well.
Date: May 29, 2009
These pedals are on my regular use bike. During the week I commute in street shoes. On the weekend I put on my cycling shoes and clip in for longer rides.
These are good pedals for the price. They are on the heavy side, but that doesn't bother me for this use. If I was going long distance I might want something lighter
Pros: Good Platform, Reliable Entry/Exit, Increases Pedaling Efficiency
Cons: Heavy

Great Pedals
Date: May 13, 2009
I love these pedals! They are my first pair of clip in pedals and I think they are great. I have had no problems what so ever with them. It took no time to get use to flipping the pedal over to clip in and getting out is as easy as turning your heal. Its nice to have the option to use the flat side when going out for a short ride with the kids or navigating a tricky off road section.
Pros: Good Platform, Reliable Entry/Exit, Adjustable, Increases Pedaling Efficiency

OK pedal but definitely not for me.
Date: March 6, 2009
For the price I thought these pedals would be a perfect fit for some good old fashion off road adventures and street commuting. I like the idea of a pedal system where you can either clip in or use the flats, depending on the type of terrain you and your bike are navigating. Unfortunately where these pedals fall flat on their face is how they are weighted. They always seem to turn clip side down, which is super annoying when in traffic and trying to get clipped in but equally annoying when your navigating some tricky off road trails and your constantly trying to fiddle with your pedals to get clipped in.
Cons: Single Sided Entry

Pain to try to clip in and any potential
Date: February 22, 2009
I'm trying to commute to work, and these clips just aren't right for me.
I thought having the single sided clip that could be use with normal shoes would be a good thing, but the right side clip would always spin so that clip side's down. I've noticed that it annoyed me enough that I'd try to look and find out which side the clip is on, which is just outright dangerous if you're riding on roads with drivers.
Also, I've gotten into a few accidents where the clips don't seem to want to release, and I fall over (and this is after the learning period). Let me tell you, that's quite alarming if you have to stop in a hurry, and twist the heel out, and it just didn't quite want to exit.
I switched to a Shimano dual sided SPD, and after the first day, I was a lot happier with it.
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: Unreliable Entry/Exit, Clip Side Down, Single Sided Entry

Great introduction
Date: October 3, 2008
My wife purchased them for me and I love them. I do allot of off road and love them for the stability and extra power when climbing hills. I also like being disengaged when ridding areas that have deep tire ruts. As I progress, I find that I have my feet locked in more then unlocked. If they ever get difficult to re/re your feet, use a 3 in 1 oil to lube the moving components.
Pros: Good Platform, Increases Pedaling Efficiency, Reliable Entry/Exit

Excellent investment
Date: September 21, 2008
Used these on cross-canada trek, and these worked great. Only had to tweak them a few times, and then never again. Through rain, the occasional mud, sun, these things stood strong, especially when I leaned my bike.
Pros: Lightweight, Tough and durable, Dual Sided Entry, Good Platform, Reliable Entry/Exit, Adjustable, Increases Pedaling Efficiency

Very practical for some cyclists
Date: May 24, 2008
I bought these for my wife last year to use on her transportation bike (commuting, day-trip touring). She's been using SPDs with performance shoes on her road/triathlon bike for a few years, so it was time to increase efficiency on her transportation bike by using casual cycling shoes, while still having the option to wear runners or sandals. In heavy traffic areas, she tends to ride with one shoe clipped in and one shoe on the platform side --- just in case. My daughter just bought a pair of these pedals for her transportation bike, so I know my wife has been happy with hers.
Other people have mentioned having some difficulty engaging/disengaging. Wellgo SPD is compatible with Shimano SPD (unlike Victor), but the Wellgo 98A cleat is somewhat different than the Shimano SH-51 and SH-52 cleats, so I wonder if that's an issue?
Pros: Reliable Entry/Exit, Increases Pedaling Efficiency, Good Platform

Nice for winter riding
Date: December 4, 2007
These are decent pedals at a good price. I put them on my winter commuter bike with the initial thought that I could switch between using my clipless MTB shoes and winter boots if (when) it gets really cold.
Clipping into these pedals when it's very cold (-15)seems to be a bit more difficult than other SPD type pedals, but I've not had any problems when it's warm. Clipping out has never been a problem regardless of temperature. I keep the tension set fairly low, so it's easy to get out of them in traffic if need be.
Note that there is no float on these, so if you pedal with your toes facing slightly to the outside, you might find them a bit less comfortable to use than pedals that have a few degrees of float.
Pros: Increases Pedaling Efficiency, Dual Sided Entry

Loved them until they broke under load.
Date: June 10, 2007
I'd recommended these petals to others many times, and had installed them on both my commuting bikes. I love the ability to switch between being clipped in, and riding on top of the pedals depending on traffic conditions.
That was until my right petal ripped off it's axle while I was pulling my child in a trailer. I was lucky I did not hit the ground, and also glad to not have been in traffic at the time.
I'm not sure how they failed. My only thought is that the perhaps the petal had bent through normal use, and lateral forces were being applied outward, rather than all the force being on the bearings.
Anyway, I've lost confidence in my other pair, and I'll likely replace my unbroken set with something else.
Pros: Price
Cons: Failed under load

Good for tandems and to learn on
Date: May 29, 2007
I have used these on out tandem and they work well there. Anyone who has tried to start a tandem on a steep to moderate uphill knows that getting into clipless pedals can be dodgy, these make it easier to work up a bit of speed before clicking in. Note that on some shoes getting clicked in can be a bit more difficult. For people uneasy about cleats these can help them adjust to them.
Pros: Versatile
Cons: Make sure works with shoe
