Heat Factory Heat Factory Toe Warmers

Little envelopes of warmth that slip inside your footwear. Designed to work in a shoe or boot with restricted airflow. Simply open the package, peel off the backing, and place them on the outside of socks, under the toes. Once you open the outer envelope, exposing the inner envelope to air, an oxidation process produces heat. The dry chemicals are non-toxic, clean, safe, and biodegradable, for heat without fumes or flames. These warmers feature a unique "Stop and Go" process for conservation. Placing the warmer in an airtight container (such as a film canister) saves any remaining heating time. The remaining time can be used later (preferably within one week). For example, a 5-hour warmer can be used for three hours one day, stored in an airtight container, then used again for approximately two hours another day.

Put on top of toe for skiing

Date:December 28, 2011
I stick these on top of my toes with socks on before putting my ski boots on. They kept my feet warm for 4-5 hrs without affecting the fit or performance.
A few time I kept them on my socks inside my walking shoes after a day of skiing. They harden but didn't affect walking since they are on top of my toes.
I don't see the reason to spend $100 on battery boot warmer.
Pros: Simple, Good Value, Reliable

A must for cold winter days

Date:December 18, 2011
I started using these a couple of winters ago and can't believe I'd do outdoor stuff in -20ºC weather without these before then. These don't slip and you can't feel them in your boots, but I find they heat up less than the hand warmers. On super cold days I'll put the hand warmers in my boots instead, even though you can feel a bit of a bulge from them.
Pros: Lightweight, Simple, Reliable

Good for casual use, not for the trail.

Date:February 6, 2009
This product contains two toe warmers that stick to the sole of your boot near the toe. They work fine enough, but are really only for when you're just messing around outside for an afternoon and want a bit more warmth in your winter boots.
These warmers add way too much bulk to consider putting inside a hiking boot for a long hike, especially if you're wearing heavy socks. I discarded mine before I even laced up my boots because I knew that they would cause blisters on my feet after a full day's hiking.
Pros: Effective, Easy To Pack, Simple To Use, Clear Instructions
Cons: Bulky

Love them!

Date:January 12, 2009
I had mild frostbite one year and my toes are quite sensitive so I love these little life savers. However, I stick them to the top of my toes instead of the bottom. I found that on the bottom they would get sooo hot with body weight pressure and pressure of riding the board that they would almost burn the balls of my feet. They are very toasty on the tops of the toes too.
Pros: Effective, Clear Instructions, Simple To Use, Easy To Pack

Toasty toes forever.

Date:December 6, 2007
I stock up on these. They're light and simple to use. Great when you're puttering around basecamp. I was originally concerned about them staying in place and getting in the way, but the adhesive is good and strong and you hardly notice them. Except that your toes are warm.
Pros: Effective, Clear Instuctions, Easy To Pack, Simple To Use
Cons: One Time Use Only
