Works, but could be better

Date:November 10, 2013
This has been part of my kit for a long time. Spare tube plus one of these just in case. If you know what you're doing, it works well, but here are my gripes:
* Patch is quite "lumpy" so if you've got lightweight race tires, you will feel this. Not isolated to Rema, any of these type of patches will do this
* It takes a while to fix a flat and have it ready to ride
* If you're like me and rarely get flats, then the glue dries out and you're screwed if you don't check it often.
Normally I'd say tough luck, that's just the way it is... but then Park came out with their glueless patches. Smaller, thinner, faster to apply and they work very well even for high pressure "racing" tires.
Pros: Simple, Good Value, Reliable
Cons: Heavy, lumpy

Seriously

Date:October 25, 2013
Why don't you have one of these? It's three bucks! I've used it 5 or 6 times now and it has never failed me. It takes a bit longer than replacing a tube but it takes up way less space than carrying 5 or 6 spares around. Why are you still reading this? Go buy it!
Pros: Good Value, Reliable

Couldn't Be Better!

Date:September 4, 2010
I've had this patch kit for a long long time and it has never failed me once. The vulcanizing glue works like a charm; provides excellent seal. Patches come in various sizes and shapes, very handy. This is the kit that everyone should have at home and in their saddle bags.
I've never actually patched on the road though, I always have a spare tube or two just in case. I save all the patching at home so I can have a perfect result. Clamping the patched spot with a quarter helps the patch and the tube adhere much better.
One little gripe is that the instruction is hard to understand if you don't know what you are doing.
Pros: Lightweight, Simple, Good Value, vulcanizing glue

Good stuff!

Date:January 12, 2009
This works a lot better than the glueless patch, because I got a single-sided pinch flat (debris cut the sidewall of a race tire, and it took out a [$] tire and pinched the tube.Just be careful squeezing out the glue. You don't need a lot, but a lot could squirt out. Oh, bring cheap Q-tips (I know it could contaminate the glue) if you don't find the spreading stick that should be in the package.
Cons: Bulky

Tip Top

Date:May 30, 2008
I am delighted MEC is now carrying this product. Coming from Germany, I grew up with 'Tip Top' - everybody does! Then, after moving to North America some 30 years ago, Tip Top was one of the small yet dearly missed things I imported personally during all those years and after every trip home. For in my experience, there wasn't a tire patch kit - vulcanized patches - available as good as what I grew up with.
